Poker is so very easy.

Poker is so hard.

But I would be so much smarter,

If I ne'er touched a card.

Atleast poker gives me some way to procrastinate - I've actually delayed writing a 5 page essay for about two days now, and poker helps with that quite nicely. I've got a night to write it, though, and I imagine I just won't let myself sleep. Oh wells.

Poker has been a rollercoaster, if anyone cares. I've been trying to ignore the bankroll amounts a little more than usual, stepping in and out of any games that seem to be juicy at the moment. I've gone everywhere from 1/2nl on Celeb to 5/10 on Tribeca, and overall it has been going decently. I've got my regular "grind" strategy down pat (have for a few months, probably) so I'm really just doing my best to keep it steady. Without emotions the money isn't too difficult, as anyone that has beaten these stakes would know... Hopefully I can keep myself straight for another few weeks.

The year's almost over. Hopefully I can finish the last 3-4 papers i have (+2 exams) and grind out atleast another 20k hands or something. The money is okay, and I'm going to see if I can set up a proper savings account to let it grow secretly...

Hrms...

School has been an intensive bitch, as of late, and between that and my travels around Eastern Canada, I haven't really had solid blocks of free time to myself. I still play a bunch of hours, usually by squeezing in one or two at a time when I have a moment... I've moved up to 2/4 and even 3/6nl pretty solidly... I hit 20k on Celeb.. I still bleed in Stars tourneys... Found a live game that I've doing okay at... Still the same old.

In other news, a random player at celeb asked me if i was "that same supafrey that had a blog". Unfortunately, I am. Considering this was at the 2/4nl level, I have to sadly assume that the person knows what they're doing, and that my continual ranting of poker theory couldn't be helping my situation.

In the interest of .. well.. monies, I may have to stop posting theory up here. Like, entirely. On the plus side, that also means I'm going to have to combine my rantings into a more focused outlet - a book or collection of essays, for example. When school lightens up, I'm going to try and squeeze that in between mad 2/4 and 5/10 sessions from Celeb and Tribeca. Until then, I'm just expecting mad cash from the live game and trying to survive until winter break with my univ work.

laters.

I almost forgot about this blog...

I kid I kid. Actually I posted a couple times on facebook (easier, and you guys could comment.... i DO need feedback here, people) so I'll just copy those. Btw, poker has been going hella mediocre, and i've stagnated for about a month now. I've still stagnated near my "all-time-high" but I'm still stuck nonetheless. I'll consider this conquered when I have atleast 15k from Celeb and 5k from prima (a site I'm dabbling in for their high rakeback).

In other news, I'll share this story, copied from my note on facebook:

I was on the subway coming home with a couple guys in a half-daze (it was a long night, if you catch my drift) when a gruesome foursome of suburban teens stumbled onto the train. Screaming like drunken hyenas, the two boys and two girls were a true spectacle of originality and culture with their green-accented Boston Celtics jerseys and caps, and 4 inch miniskirts showing some "not-quite-legal" thigh for all to see. The colour scheme and baggy pants really brought out the guys' Cracker-esque whiter-than-white skin tones, and I enjoyed a laugh as I mentally masturbated about how much cooler I was than these losers.

Well one of them seemed to want to break my inner dialogue's silly notions about their loserdom - the only way he knew how...

FREESTYLING.

Oh what a joy. Never before has the York Mills chapter of the Gangster's Paradise spat rhymes so fresh, or flavour so bold, as whiteboy stumbled over obviously prepared limericks of mediocrity.

As I started laughing/choking into my sleeve (I didn't want to get beat up by the 15 year olds, afterall) I saw some relief:

SOMEONE HAD ACCEPTED THE CHALLENGE.

I'm not even joking - as wonderbread did his best Jazzy Jeff impression, some OTHER guy from the absolutely opposite end of the train gets up and harlem shuffles his way on over. In obvious needs of warming up, we were lucky that this second urban champion started rhyming when he was still a good 30 feet away from the white boy - a ridiculous image if you consider that whiteboy still hadn't known that this challenger was coming - he was just spittin' it to the xtreme, afterall, and we wanted a king-size taste with extra fries, please.

Either way, this second urban thug actually had a little colour to him - a light brown hue that could have meant any number of races, but his army coloured winter jacket let me know to "stay away" from his hood. With grimy dreads and scratching his track marks, brownie (he was more of a golden colour, though, really) pwned the white guy, who was now stammering in front of his girls. Brownie even pulled that exclusive "take your hat off your head and put it on my head" trick - it was marvelous and obviously a brilliant move - AA++++ GREAT SELLER WOULD BUY FROM AGAIN.

Either way, the situation died down a little, as the now-group-of-five started chuckling amongst themselves. With the action dying down (and with it: our entertainment) several stops from our destination, I panicked at the thought of not being regaled with hilarity for the next few precious moments of travel.

Naturally, I got up and screamed the only thing I could think of:

"ROUND TWO! BREAKDANCE FIGHTING!"

It didn't work.

Went to casino rama on a whim tonight with the bro. Nothing fancy.. sat down with a hundred at the 1/2nl game and grinded a bit... then I saw someone sneak in $150 into his starting stack and was about to say something - that is, until I realized the table was actually $200 max.

Oops.

Either way.. nothing fancy. No real good players, etc... A couple strong plays (Raising $50 on a blank turn with AK after a Q22 flop reraise against my continuation bet was a beauty.. I'm just THAT good... *cough) but nothing overly fascinating. Ended up +$400 after a few hours. Went home early-ish.

I also got my scholarship, today. The email came in, letting me know I pulled $4,000 for my efforts - basically this year is almost covered. That's always nice.

Lalalallalala
